The Collector and Other Tales Is Now Available

It's published and available at Amazon.com and Smashwords. There's 13 new stories that I hope will entertain and chill. I will be trying to get the word out and promote this one as well as Dark Wonders.

Where I'm At

Quick update:

Just finished putting the final touches on a cover design for my third short story collection. This will be published before THE FOLLOWERS (my first novel) and should be out in October. The release of my second collection, THE COLLECTOR and Other Tales is less than a month away and all things are very close to "go" for it.

Where's the time?

So many things to do and so little time...we've all said it, but damn if I'm not sitting here thinking to myself "where's more time?"

Maybe when I was younger I just didn't need as much sleep, so it felt like there was more of it. I still don't get more than six hours sleep a night, so it's not as if I'm sleeping my life away...so where is that elusive time??

Amanda Hocking and St.Martin's Press

Last week I read an article that mentioned author Amanda Hocking - I'll admit, I'd never heard of her. But after reading about her and how she was self-publishing on Amazon.com through the Kindle store with great success, it inspired me to try this myself.

Now, after going to Amanda's blog http://amandahocking.blogspot.com/ and reading about her decision to sell the rights to some her books to St. Martin's Press, I have to say I really think she missed a huge opportunity to do something unique and historic. I think based on her sells, her fan base, and the attention she has been (and would be) receiving, Amanda could have become a top tier author without ever having had the backing of a huge publisher.

That could have changed publishing forever. I still think it will happen, probably sooner than later. There's so many opportunities out there right now to get one's self in the media eye and someone will break through and lead the way for others to follow. I know I'm going to try, and if I'm trying there's got to be others with more talent and more tenacity than me who will get there if I don't.

Best wishes Amanda! You deserve the attention and I hope the experience is a positive one for you!

DARK WONDERS - Kindle Edition

First up, I've just published the Kindle Edition of my first short story collection, DARK WONDERS. This book was originally published thru iUniverse and sold ... well let's just say using the word "sold" is almost laughable.

For one thing, the book was way over-priced. I had absolutely no say in the price point whatsoever and I felt guilty that people were being asked to pay $10.95 for such a short collection. Funny thing is, it's still available on Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, and other online retailers. If you bought one, thanks. If you didn't - well this post is for you!

Introducing DARK WONDERS for the Kindle. At a price so low it's impossible to pass up: a mere .99 cents. Not even one whole dollar! So go to Amazon.com by following this link http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005EOTI0K  and buy my book! Then we'll meet back here and discuss it page by page if you like. Well go on. This blog is useless if you don't!

And away we go!

Okay. So I'm back. Trying once again to put words on paper (or computer screen to be more accurate) and I'll be detailing my ups and downs, yays and woes, cheers and tears as they happen, hoping to show what it is like to be a struggling author with minimum skills who just wants to entertain and share his passion for creating stories.

I know from reading other's blogs, it will be slow going in the beginning. Until I can reach out and meet you folks, I'll probably be faced with no comments, low page visits, and such...I'll deal with it. Just know I'll be working hard to find like minds who love horror stories, mysteries, and an occasional humorous tale or two. Once we finally make the connection, I think we'll get along just fine.
